5 million boundaries covering Political, Statistical, State, County, City and Zip Code areas, expertly curated across every country
From business intelligence analysis and data journalism to territory planning and logistics management, customers utilize spatial analytics in countless solutions.
Other datasets typically simplify boundaries, which makes your visualizations inaccurate. Polygons in Mapbox Boundaries are always perfectly edge-matched to adjacent features within a seamless hierarchy of spatial layers, to cleanly visualize the entire world at any scale.
Geometries are georeferenced and served from Mapbox vector tiles, allowing easy merging of multiple polygons to form custom areas. Test merging polygons in our Sales Planner playground and watch the data update dynamically.
Add Boundaries to basemaps and style them in Studio. Match point features to boundaries using the Tilequery API. Render maps on a website or app with Mapbox GL JS. Build dashboards on-premise with Atlas. All with just a few lines of code.
The collection of high resolution administrative level-0 country polygons in Mapbox Boundaries is now available to all designers and developers using the new version of Studio, for free. The individual country polygons include updates to major disputed areas and support of different worldviews, making it easy to create accurate country level choropleths or create custom styles for individual countries.
BI platforms such as Tableau and Microstrategy trust Mapbox Boundaries as the data source behind their geospatial analysis capabilities. Regardless of the platform, Mapbox Boundaries add value to dashboards with unmatched geographic precision and countless data aggregation possibilities.

Mapbox Boundaries is an expertly curated set of global boundary data that allows you to add boundaries to your maps, dashboards, and data visualizations. Mapbox Boundaries consists of multiple data layers that come cartographically-matched, georeferenced, and processed as a Mapbox vector tileset ready for integration with your maps and data.
Mapbox Boundaries makes your maps more useful by enabling you to interact with world polygons, adding valuable context to your maps and supporting comprehensive analysis. This added coverage can help:
There are currently five data types in Mapbox Boundaries:
Mapbox Boundaries is a world wide, curated data product that covers everything from Chinese prefectures and Japanese 7-digit postal codes to French arrondissements and US neighborhoods. Exact coverage varies by country and we encourage you to explore the Mapbox Boundaries country explorer to see all of the data available to you.
Additionally, Mapbox Boundaries has worldviews for Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and a US / International audiences, so you can provide localized context for data to your customers wherever they do business.
