About LandscaperNow

LandscaperNow simplifies lawn care for homeowners while helping landscapers operate more efficiently. Inspired by the convenience of rideshare platforms, LandscaperNow connects homeowners with local service providers through a fast, digital-first experience.

Homeowners can quickly enter their address, receive pricing, and request service, while landscapers gain tools to manage routes, schedules, and daily operations. By replacing manual communication and fragmented workflows with a streamlined platform, LandscaperNow brings a modern, transparent experience to the yard care industry.

Reducing friction during property lookup

For LandscaperNow, everything begins with a property. Early versions of the platform relied on manual address entry in the initial quote form, requiring users to input street, city, state, and zip code – a process that created immediate friction.

Users coming from ads expected speed and simplicity. Instead, they encountered a slow, multi-field form that led to hesitation and drop-off. Users had to manually enter full address details, which added unnecessary effort and slowed down the experience. As a result, many potential customers abandoned the quote form.

At the same time, inaccurate or incomplete address inputs reduced trust and made it harder to deliver reliable service downstream. Without solving this issue, property lookup risked remaining a bottleneck instead of becoming a seamless entry point into the platform.

Mapbox transforms address entry into a fast, intuitive experience

Before adopting Mapbox, LandscaperNow explored ways to simplify address entry internally. The team experimented with reducing the input to just street number and street name, but the approach proved unreliable in practice. User error quickly became a major hurdle. Many users entered incomplete or incorrect information or did not follow input instructions as expected. This led to inaccurate results, frustration, and ultimately abandonment during the quote process –  weakening both conversion and trust at the very first interaction.

The team evaluated other well-known mapping providers but found that they did not align with the needs of a growing startup, particularly in terms of cost and flexibility. LandscaperNow needed a solution that could deliver both accuracy and efficiency without introducing additional complexity or overhead.

Mapbox addressed both challenges with developer-friendly address search services that transform address entry into a guided, intuitive experience. In a form using the Mapbox Geocoding API, users can begin typing and instantly see standardized address suggestions that eliminate guesswork and significantly reduce input errors. Tasks that previously took around 17 seconds to complete can now be done in roughly 5 seconds, significantly improving speed and reducing abandonment at a critical moment in the user journey.

Mapbox Geocoding suggests complete addresses in real time and fills in details like city and postal code automatically, turning what used to be a manual, error-prone process into something fast and effortless.

A property-first workflow, powered by location

LandscaperNow built its product around a simple principle: a property’s location is the starting point of the entire experience. Mapbox enables a location-first approach across multiple parts of the platform, from the Geocoding API’s autocomplete for fast and accurate address lookup, to Mapbox GL JS providing clear map-based confirmation of a property’s location and Static Images adding context and building user confidence. By combining speed, accuracy, and visual confirmation, Mapbox helped LandscaperNow turn a critical friction point into a streamlined, trust-building first step.

On the backend of the platform, geocoding coordinate data and the Mapbox Optimization API support routing logic and proximity-based job matching, connecting the front-end experience with operational workflows behind the scenes. Taking a location-first approach supports both sides of the LandscaperNow marketplace. For homeowners, it creates a fast, intuitive path from address entry to booking. For landscapers, it enables smarter workflows such as route optimization, workload balancing, and proximity-based job selection.

As the platform grows, LandscaperNow plans to expand its use of Mapbox to support more advanced location-based features including enhanced routing and drive-time optimization, geographic planning tools for service providers, improving how commercial properties and large locations are handled, and introducing proximity-based matching for providers already on the road.

Better search improves conversion, efficiency, and growth

Rather than treating maps as a visual add-on, LandscaperNow integrated location services directly into its core workflow, improving both usability and operational efficiency. Internal testing showed that property lookup time decreased from approximately 17 seconds to 5 seconds, a 71% improvement. Customers responded to the faster and more intuitive experience: Quote volume increased from occasional submissions to tens per day at first and now hundreds of requests daily.

We measure success by how much smoother the property lookup experience has become. With Mapbox, we reduced lookup time by about 71%, and we’re seeing more users actively engage with address entry. The biggest difference is that people spend less time struggling with input and can move through that first step much more quickly and confidently.
Luis Medina, founder, LandscaperNow

By alleviating manual effort at the entry point, LandscaperNow improved both engagement and conversion and created a more polished and credible user experience. The smooth, reliable experience differentiates the platform and builds trust from the moment users arrive.

Mapbox makes it easy to connect every step of the experience, from finding a property to planning the job, into one smooth flow. That’s what allows us to deliver a simple, intuitive experience and a faster, more modern property-first approach that sets LandscaperNow apart.

With location at the core of its product, LandscaperNow is building toward a fully connected, on-demand service marketplace. By continuing to invest in location technology, the company is positioned to scale a faster, more intelligent, and more user-friendly experience for both homeowners and landscapers.
