The next level of operational control of drone programs

Skyward.io provides software, services, training, and connectivity for the next level of operational control of drone programs at every stage.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) continuously publishes Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) data with updates to where pilots can and cannot fly. Skyward uses MTS to update facility maps that show the area around an airport, broken down into small grids. Each grid lists a maximum altitude, which a pilot is allowed to fly up to, if they request authorization from the FAA prior to flight.

“Before using Mapbox, the tool we had could only show 2 colors - red and yellow, which were not good for visualizing the data we have. The only way to do what we want to do is to use Mapbox Studio and an automated data pipeline. We recently switched to MTS and noticed that the processing is faster. Using Recipe, we now have more granular control, and can combine everything to one tileset with greater flexibility.”
