MapTime SF/OAK a safe place for mapping!

March 14, 2017 in San Francisco, US

Details like building footprints, Points of Interest, and traffic signals in San Francisco makes it one of the well-mapped cities on OpenStreetMap.

Last year, the San Francisco City Government published LiDAR-derived building footprints that include both geometry and height information. One of the goals of the SF OpenStreetMap community is to add height information to existing buildings in OpenStreetMap.

Come join Mapbox along with the MapTime SF/Oak community for a mapathon to add building heights. Check the OpenStreetMap wiki to learn more about the project and talk to the community on Gitter to get involved.
