We are looking for a mapping and data intern to join our team this winter. This internship will focus on designing maps in TileMill and researching, cleaning, and processing large data sets. All of this work will be tightly integrated into our data projects, and your work will help some of the incredible organizations we partner with.
Wrapping up a TileMill feature request meeting in early November with the Development Seed production team.
Our focus this winter will be similar as we expand our work with international development and humanitarian relief organizations, as well as gear up for mapping the U.S. 2012 elections.
We’re looking for a student (who is taking classes at night) or a recent graduate who is excited about GIS, data visualizations, and international aid and wants to learn first hand ways that technology can help solve real-world problems. The organizations we partner with rely on accurate and well presented data to conduct the critical work they do every day. This internship provides a great opportunity for the right candidate to participate in generating real products that will be used in decision making on the ground. Over the course of the winter, the intern will gain experience in applied GIS and data work, designing maps using TileMill, project management, and research.
