This week we’re joining in celebrations across the globe for OpenStreetMap’s Geography Awareness Week, promoting geography, cartography, and open mapping!

We’re hosting several events throughout the week - specifically geared towards encouraging you to get mapping on OpenStreetMap! Join us at our following events:

  • Ayacucho Mapathon: Join our Ayacucho, Peru office in learning how to get started in OpenStreetMap, making edits, tagging turn restrictions, and more, on Friday, November 18, 14:00-18:00.
  • Bangalore Mapillary party: Join us at Mapbox Bengaluru Thursday, November 17 at 17:00 for a hands-on workshop on using Mapillary for crowd-sourced street level photos to improve OpenStreetMap.

We encourage you to find an OpenStreetMap event near you and join in the conversation with #osmgeoweek. (No events near you? Then learn how to get mapping on your own!)

We’ll also be at Stanford’s GIS Day on November 15 and 16. If you’re on campus, make sure to join Morgan’s talk on how we’re building our auto navigation and Lyzi’s workshop on getting started using Mapbox tools.

Happy mapping!
