Bruno Sánchez Andrade Nuño

Chief Scientist

Bruno is the Chief Scientist at Mapbox. Bruno has a PhD in Astrophysics from the Max Planck Research School. He has worked with NASA satellites and space rockets at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, and on Science and Technology Policy at the National Academies.

Prior to joining Mapbox, Bruno was director of the Global Adaptation Institute (GAIN), which created an index to measure climate change adaptation. He has presented his work to institutions like the State Department, Engineers Without Borders, World Bank, the CIA, and various embassies and journalists around the world.

Bruno is a 2013 Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum. Bruno is from a small hamlet in rural Asturias, Spain, where you can still get lost in the forest for days and look to the starry night sky to realize how big and amazing the universe is.
