Superpowering Runkeeper’s 1.5 million walks, runs, and bike rides

Using the new vector rendering capabilities of Tippecanoe, we were able to revisit our map of 1.5 million walks, runs, and bike rides with data from our friends at RunKeeper.
All of this data is part of RunKeeper’s public feed but to be expressly conscious of privacy, we’ve processed the data to strip the first and last 200 meters off of each route.
Along with 150,000 additional routes, the anonymized tracks can now be explored all the way down to sidewalk level. This gives even better clarity into the best places from all over the world to get outside and explore.
